)

This is the second time we rec eived a 1.5m × 1m commissioned artwork.
Every time we work at this size, it feels exciting… and honestly, a bit stressful.
We bought a 10m × 1.5m roll of watercolor paper earlier.
When we unrolled it, everything became very quiet.
Slowly… carefully… making sure there were no wrinkles.
Because once there’s a crease,
it means starting all over again.
This time, the piece is a big comma.
Life is still unfolding.
Jun Le has written large works before,
but the biggest was only up to A2.
1.5 meters is a completely different scale.
The placement, the balance,
the breathing, the ink flow…
everything is magnified.
If the position goes wrong,
I’ll have to cut another 1.5m sheet.
And my heart will probably be cut once too.
Jun Le stood firm,
held the brush, paused…
then one continuous stroke.
Done. He clocked off.
I continued with the packing, cleaning, and the rest of the work.
That’s our workflow.
We carefully rolled up the artwork,
let the ink settle for a few days,
then sent it for framing.
Very thankful to the owner of this piece
for trusting us with the full process,
including framing and arranging the installation on the wall.
From a blank sheet
to a presence on the wall,
we followed the whole journey together.
Hope this unfinished comma
adds a quiet pause to the space.
A gentle reminder that
life doesn’t always need a full stop.
